Let Common Sense Prevail for Rugby Match
02-March-2010

The Vintners' Federation of Ireland, which represents nearly 5,000 pubs in Ireland outside of Dublin, has today called on common sense to prevail in relation to the upcoming Magners League game between Munster and Leinster scheduled for Good Friday (April 2).
Limerick Chamber of Commerce sources estimate that this game could be worth up to €10m to the city of Limerick in money spent in hotels, pubs, restaurants and shops if switched to an alternative date.
We fully support what local VFI representatives are saying about the importance of this fixture being moved.
It is our strong opinion that there is no reason why this cannot be the case if a mature attitude is taken by both Munster Rugby and Leinster Rugby along with Setanta Sports and the Magners League Board to find agreement.
The VFI calls on all sides to make a genuine effort.
