VFI Members Have the Chance of Winning the Newstalk Best Local 2010 Award

Here we go again! After the success of last year's competition the Newstalk Best Local is back and Sean Moncrieff and his team launched the competition live from The Stray Sod, Drumauna, Drung, Co Cavan last Friday. Already the texts have started but lines don't officially open until July 19th.........so don't miss out...text your favourite VFI pub to 53106 from the 19th onwards - and make sure you include the address of the pub - don't want a pub of the same name getting your votes!

The competition will be run over the coming weeks and will allow listeners to text in and vote for their “Best Local”. The concept is that there will be votes throughout the country with a Best Local picked for each of the four provinces and then there will be a final run off between the four for the Best Local nationwide.

So, do you think you have what it takes to be crowned Newstalk Best Local 2010? If you think you do, and more importantly if you think you have the customers to back you up, stick up the posters that were in your VFI Update magazine this week and get those fingers texting!!

Participating pubs can apply to receive a "Right Folks Please" jingle featuring the voice of Sean Moncrieff as your friendly barman!

 

What's in it for you, the VFI Member?

1. You have a chance of winning the following:

• The Newstalk Best Local 2010 Award

• A live national broadcast from you pub with Sean Moncrieff on Newstalk

• A €10,000 radio advertising campaign on Newstalk

• 2 nights for yourself in each of the 4 Flynn Hotels - a total of 8 nights

2. One of your customers could win a weekend break at a Flynn Hotel

Stage 1...

3. Fill in your province on the poster, i.e. Connaught, Leinster, Munster or Ulster

4. Fill in your pub name & address on the poster

5. Place the poster in a prominent position

6. Tell all customers to support you by texting your pub details and province to 53106 (texts cost 30c)

7. Stay tuned to Moncrieff on Newstalk 106-108fm, weekdays 2.00pm - 4.30pm or www.newstalk.ie/bestlocal for regular updates, terms & condition and see how your pub is doing

8. 13th August - Closing date for entries and 4 provincial finalists are chosen - is this you?!

 

Stage 2.....

9. Week commencing 23rd August - Finalists are invited on-air to convince the public why they should win Newstalk Best Local 2010

10. 27th August - Winner chosen and is crowned Newstalk Best Local 2010

11. 3rd September - Moncrieff broadcasts from your pub starting at 2.00pm.

• Hold a voting evening

• Have a word with the local press to see if they can give you some free mentions
