Vintners’ Federation Makes Benevolent Fund Available to Members Affected by Flooding
07-December-2009
Many members of the VFI have suffered damage to their premises. In addition, several members may have to close their pubs in the lead up to their busiest time of year following the devastating floods that hit the country over recent weeks and will suffer a loss of income.
This fund is a gesture by the VFI to its affected members who can apply for financial support through an agreed application and verification process.
Speaking today, Val Hanley, President of the VFI said; "Christmas is the busiest time of the year for our members. Devastating as they would have been at any stage, these floods could not have come at a worse time for publicans, many of whom are already struggling to keep their businesses alive during these difficult times.
"Our hope is that this fund will provide some support to our members at this difficult time and will go towards helping them get back on their feet and open to the public as soon as possible."
