About Us
The name "JM's" tells a story common to many Irish families in the 1800's. Barney O'Hare was a stone mason in a small town called Glen in Co. Down. There were many families with the name O'Hare living in the area, and as was the usual tradition in Ireland at that time, each family was given a nickname to tell them apart. As Barney was a stone mason by trade his clan were called the masons. In 1908 Barney and his wife Elizabeth welcomed a son called John to the family. Johnny Mason, as he was known worked hard all his life and married Mary in 1949, they went on to have a large family. In tribute and remembrance to their father and grandfather before them, the family named this bar & restaurant "Johnny Mason's".
Located in the heart of Dundalk Town Centre, JM's has the look and feel of a traditional hearty Irish pub. From the oak floors, hand carved mirrors and stained glass windows, JM's is the ideal place to enjoy a perfectly poured pint from one of our knowledgeable staff. We offer a wide variety of beers, wines, speciality coffee drinks and a fully stocked top shelf bar. Our staff are more than happy to provide you with your favourite tipple or perhaps offer suggestions for a new favourite.
Whether it's a quiet pint or some lively chat you're after, why not drop into JM's on the Ramparts. You will always be sure of a friendly welcome.
