About Us
Durkin’s is a family run pub in Ballaghaderreen Town Centre on the N5. Situated on the Mayo/Roscommon/Sligo border, we are ideally placed as a base to tour Sligo, Mayo, Roscommon and Galway. Our 24 en-suite bedrooms are Failte Ireland 3 Star approved and all have TV, telephone, Tea/Coffee making facilities. Our smoking area, while on the first floor, is a pleasant, peaceful oasis of trees and plants. It is a heated area with plasma TV’s for your enjoyment. Bar Food (which can also be served in the smoking area) is available all day, every day. While our separate dining room is open Mon – Sat from 12.30pm – 2.30pm and from 6pm – 9pm. Our reputation for excellent food has been built up over the last 30 years. Both our bar and bedrooms are disabled accessible with all facilities. We have two functions rooms, catering for groups from 30 – 150, available for all family occasions. We also provide a mobile catering service.Local Attractions
While Ballaghaderreen boasts some wonderful shops, we are just 35 minutes drive from the excellent shopping towns of Sligo, Castlebar and Roscommon and just over an hour from Galway. Nearby is Portahard, burial place of Dr. Douglas Hyde, 1st President of Ireland. Cruachain Ai Heritage Centre, legendary seat of Queen Maebh of Connaught. Strokestown Famine Museum Drumcliffe, burial place of W.B.Yeats (45 minutes drive). Ceide Fields (1 hours drive) Westport House & Park (45 minutes drive)
