The Horse Shoe Inn is a good clean Irish pub with great friendly staff in the beautiful midland town of Abbeyleix. Winner of the Best Singing Irish Pub with Gerry Ryan RIP and Brenda Donoghue on 2FM!Also got rave reveiws in PUB SPY, We Got FIVE PINTS,the commandos said it would win best pint hands down if there was such a competition. Trad sessions on MONDAY NIGHTS are great open to all.
Plenty of parking is available in the square outside the pub and some accomomodation is available overhead.
The pub has been newly refurbished is wheelchair accessible and has lovely open fires.
Pool Table and Juke Box in the back bar.
Great atmosphere! A great place to be!

Local Attractions
Abbeyleix was designed by the first Viscount of Vesci in the 18th century although there has been a settlement at Abbeyleix since 1183 encircling a Cistercian Monastery. Today the memory of the monastery lives on in the towns name.
Abbey Sense Gardens - The sensory garden is set in the walled garden of the Brigidine Convent. It is the first garden of its kind in Ireland and its aim is to create a nursery specialising in fragrant plants.
Sextons House - Here is a fine example of a mid 19th century cottage. It has been restored and fully refurbished to its former 1800 style. It provides the visitor with a unique opportunity to witness the domestic conditions of our ancestors.
Heritage House - Located in a tastefully restored 1884 school house the award winning exhibition contains the rich fabric of local and county history. Witness the re-creation of the Abbeyleix "Titanic" carpet factory.
Saturday morning country market in the Square.

Stopped on our way to airport, so sorry we had to leave, great place to be, great staff, great atmosphere, will be back very soon, and more with me.
